It has an area of 1.28 million km2 and a population of over 32 million people. The terrain consists mainly of the western Andes Mountains which are home to the highest peak in Peru, Mount Huascarán at 6,768 meters (22,205 ft) above sea level. There are currently several area codes for different regions across Peru as all numbers are seven digits long starting with two numbers followed by five numbers (e.g xx-xxxxx). Peru also has mobile networks which are operated by Claro, Movistar and Entel which use GSM networks with 3G/4G coverage available on all networks. To call a mobile device within Peru you must dial 00+51+ mobile network prefix + telephone number where the mobile network prefixes are either 9 or 8 depending on whether you are calling a Claro or Movistar/Entel device respectively.
