Gomel region

Gomel region is located in the southeast of the country. It borders on the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernigov – Ukraine. Its territory occupies 40.4 thousand square meters. km and is the second largest in Belarus. The main transit highways pass through the Gomel region: Moscow – Brest, St. Petersburg – Odessa, Vilnius – Odessa.

History

The history of the Gomel land dates back to the Paleolithic era, which is confirmed by archaeological excavations of sites near the villages of Berdyzh and the village of Yurovichi – the first settlements on the territory of Belarus. The lands of Polissya were settled in the 8th-10th centuries by the Dregovichi, the first mention of which is found in the Tale of Bygone Years. On the pages of written sources, the cities of Turov and Mozyr are mentioned already in the 10th-11th centuries. On the Gomel land, one of the first East Slavic principalities, Turov, was created.

Nature

A third of the territory of the region is occupied by forests, and large rivers – the Dnieper, Pripyat, Sozh and Berezina – are important navigable arteries of the country. Also in the Gomel region is the Pripyatsky National Park. It is convenient to see it with an organized tour, as it includes several different parts: tourists first go on a car safari, then they visit the natural museum in Lyaskovychi, opened in 2012, and, finally, they ride around the park on a boat, admiring the birds that are found here lots of. The Yakutskiye Gory Active Leisure Park, which welcomes dear guests all year round, is located just 37 km from the glorious city of Minsk. The Yakutsk Mountains Park has a recent but glorious history since 2011, it was the first skiing park in the country. Over time, its creators began to focus not only on fans of boards and skis, but also fans of outdoor recreation. Soon the park became all-season, and for residents of Minsk and tourists – a great place to spend exciting leisure time. Now there is a very wide choice of entertainment for representatives of various age groups and interests. But, of course, no one here forgets about lovers of boards and skis. So, it is not surprising that one of the main attractions here is, in fact, the slope.

Tracks

The length of the track is almost half a kilometer, and the height difference is somewhere around the mark of 60 m. Separately, the creators of the park thought about entertainment for snowboarders, as much as 400 m are allotted for them. skiing in the Yakutsk mountains is no problem. Fine snow cover is provided by state-of-the-art equipment. To the top of the mountain, athletes are lifted by a drag lift. And another important bonus – in the Yakutsk mountains, both routes are lit at night.

The recreation park is ideal for those who are taking their first steps in skiing, because there is a school where both group and individual lessons are held. By the way, it is not at all necessary to carry all the necessary equipment with you: there are rental points in the park. Well, for those who want to relax somehow differently, or take a break between the slopes, there is a very wide range of entertainment. Among them are snowmobiling, tubing or ballooning.
