Tonga is a Polynesian country located in the South Pacific Ocean, east of Australia and north of New Zealand. It has a total area of 747 square kilometers (288 square miles) which makes it slightly larger than Singapore in Asia. The landscape in Tonga consists of low-lying islands with volcanic peaks and coral reefs. The highest point is Kao at 1,033 meters (3,389 feet). The climate is tropical with hot temperatures year-round; while some areas experience cooler temperatures during winter months due to higher altitudes. Temperatures range from 18°C (64°F) during winter months to 33°C (91°F) during summer months. The international dialling code for Tonga is +676 followed by either 7 digits for landlines or 8 digits for mobile phones e.g: +676 xx xxx xxx or +676 xx xxx xxxx respectively where ‘x’ represents any digit between 0-9 depending on your telephone number’s location within each province/city/town respectively.
