Palau is an island nation located in the western Pacific Ocean and consists of more than 400 islands with a total land area of 459 km2. It has a population of around 18,000 people and is a part of the Micronesia region. The terrain consists mainly of coral reefs, limestone cliffs, mangrove forests and sandy beaches. The climate is tropical with two distinct seasons; wet and dry. Average temperatures range between 25°C to 35°C throughout the year with average annual rainfall ranging between 1,000-1,500 mm. Additionally, to call a cell phone or landline inside Palau from another country you must dial 00 + 680 + telephone number. There are currently several area codes for different regions across Palau as all numbers are seven digits long starting with two numbers followed by five numbers (e.g xx-xxxxx). Palau also has mobile networks which are operated by PNCC which use GSM networks with 3G/4G coverage available on all networks.
