According to Allcitycodes, Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country located in the Malay Peninsula and part of the island of Borneo. It has an area of 329,847 square kilometers and is home to over 32 million people. Malaysia is divided into two regions: Peninsular Malaysia, which consists of 11 states, and East Malaysia, which consists of two states located on the northern part of Borneo. The country’s terrain is largely mountainous with tropical rainforests covering much of its land. The highest peak in Malaysia is Gunung Kinabalu at 4,095 meters (13,435 feet). There are also numerous rivers and lakes throughout the country including Lake Kenyir, the largest man-made lake in Southeast Asia. The area code for Malaysia is +60. This code is used when dialing from outside Malaysia to any other phone number within it. Additionally, to call a cell phone or landline inside Malaysia from another country you must dial 00 + 60 + area code (without 0) + telephone number.
